Southbay Contributes to Local Accessible Community Garden

Southbay returned to Beatrice Community Garden in Blyth to provide further support with the development of the community space.

Following an initial visit, where our team helped clear overgrown areas and install fencing, we returned to assist with moving gravel to prepare the ground for a new summer house.

The garden is being developed by Newsham & New Delaval Allotment Garden Association to create an accessible and inclusive space for the local community.

Plans include wheelchair friendly pathways, and raised growing areas, with the goal of helping older and less able allotment tenants to continue gardening and enjoy time outdoors.

By returning to the site, our team has been able to provide further support as the garden continues to develop.

This visit forms part of our #25for25 initiative, which aims to deliver 25 social value activities across the year.
