Howdon Quay Extension which was awarded to Southbay in April 2011 by Bouygues TP as part of the New Tyne Crossing project. The new 90m long extension to the quay will increase the berthing facilities of the Port of Tyne. It involves the construction of an industrial heavy duty suspended quay of reinforced concrete over precast beams supported by steel piles over water.
This project is now complete and handed back over to the client.
