HMS Calliope

In August 2011 the RFCA (Reserve Forces' and Cadets' Association) awarded the contract to replace approximately 52m of quay wall to Southbay. The works at HMS Calliope on the bank of the River Tyne in Newcastle will see a new sheet piled wall installed behind the existing stone quay wall.

The works will include:

1. Boreholes
2. Make existing structure safe
3. Site Clearance
4. Installation of Anchor tubes
5. Install sheet pile wall
6. Installation of ties
7. Capping beam
8. Drainage
9. Concrete pavement

Duration of Works:

20 Weeks, initial ground investigation works commenced 05/09/11, the works are nearing completion with the concrete ground slabs now complete.
